Our Story
Since the first class in 2021, Glossop Music Junction has had one goal - to bring high quality, music curriculum-based children's classes to the local community. The immediate impact that music activity and involvement can have on humans is evident in newborn babies to people in their 90th decade. What I hope to bring to the community is a chance for children, and their adults, to experience music and all its elements through a range of multi-sensory activities.

As I now operate out of Glossop Music Junction CIC's permanent home, I hope to expand into the community, reaching families where music may feel like an inaccessible activity, or to groups of young people who need a safe and creative space to explore music, and beyond!

SO MUCH MORE THAN NURSERY RHYMES...
Glossop Music Junction CIC provides a unique and highly personalised timetable of classes which draw on ideas and skills from the National Music Education Plan and Model Music Curriculum. We sing, use sign language, explore all musical elements such as rhythm, timbre and dynamics, play instruments and dance - a lot! Each group will experience the same elements but tailored to their age.
With over ten years of music specialist teaching experience, I can guarantee educational, passionate and fun music classes with creativity and exploration at the heart of learning.

The Music Room is Open!

July has been a whirlwind! I first saw my music room when it was still a building site and in two halves with a wall dividing the room. After a little time in limbo waiting without a definitive move in date, I suddenly found myself not only with a move in date but that it could be in 2 weeks!
So I finished my classes early for the term and have been squirreled away in my room for the last fortnight - sourcing furniture, painting furniture, drilling holes to secure furniture to the wall, sewing blankets and shelf covers, and when not in my room, I've been writing policies, lesson plans and making this website!! I am so very ready to get back to teaching!!

Music in the Community
Glossop Music Junction CIC is wholeheartedly committed to bringing musical activity and experiences to the local community - not just its youngest residents.
Currently we are working with Be Well CIC to bring music sessions into their Intergenerational Playgroups, and our future collaborations include school settings and even the Scouts!

What we offer
